Terms of Use

Short version: the website is free, the apps are sold through Apple, and nothing you clean ever reaches us.

Last updated: 20 August 2026

Who you are dealing with

KillEXIF is made and operated by Color Vivo Internet, S.L., a company registered in Spain. Writing to info@colorvivo.com reaches us.

By using the website or the apps you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use them — there is nothing to cancel, because there is no account.

The website is free, and stays free

Cleaning files on killexif.com is free, with every supported format, and it does not require an account. We do not limit it to push you towards the apps: a privacy tool that cripples itself to sell you something loses the only thing that makes it credible.

The site is served as static files and runs entirely in your browser. We do not promise it will always be available, and we may change or withdraw it.

The apps, and what you are buying

The KillEXIF apps are sold through Apple. Buying gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on the devices you own or control, under the rules of the store you bought it from.

There are two ways to pay. The one-off purchase is paid once and does not expire. The yearly subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, and any free trial period is stated at the moment of purchase.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • A subscription renews unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings, not here — we cannot do it for you.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policy. We can ask on your behalf, but the decision is not ours.
  • Prices come from your local App Store and vary by country, with tax where it applies.

What you may not do

You may use KillEXIF for your own files, personal or professional, including files you handle for clients. What you may not do is resell it, redistribute it, or present it as your own product, and you may not attempt to defeat its licence checks.

The name, the logo and the design are ours. The engine specification and the test suite are published under their own licence, and that licence — not this page — is what governs them.

What we do not promise

KillEXIF removes the metadata it detects, tells you what it could not remove and why, and verifies its own work by reading the cleaned file back. What it will not do is guarantee that a file carries nothing identifying: a format can hide data in places no tool inspects, and an image can identify you by what it shows.

The software is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind beyond what the law where you live grants you and does not allow us to exclude. Nothing here limits the rights of a consumer under mandatory law.

Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. In the modes that replace or delete the original, the app says so before doing it.

Apple

For apps bought through an Apple store, these terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple. We are responsible for the app and its content.

Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any warranty that cannot be excluded, you may ask Apple for a refund of the purchase price; beyond that refund, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.

Any claim about the app — product liability, a failure to comply with legal requirements, consumer protection, or a third-party claim that the app infringes their intellectual property — is ours to handle, not Apple’s.

You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo, and that you are not on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Privacy

Neither the website nor the apps upload your files, and there is no account to create. What we do and do not collect is set out in full on the privacy page, which forms part of these terms.

Changes, law and contact

We may change these terms. The date at the top says when this version was written, and continuing to use KillEXIF after a change means accepting it.

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim before the courts there. For anything else, the courts of Madrid, Spain.
